Don’t try to learning yoga on yourself. Work with an experienced and credentialed instructor to learn the proper way to perform the exercises and avoid injury.

Yoga is not a substitute for medical care. Yoga offers many health benefits and may even be included as part of some treatment plans. But it’s still important to work closely with your regular health care providers and get proper treatment when you need it.

Know your limits and stay. Before beginning any new type of yoga, ask about its physical demands. Find out how strenuous it is. Talk with the instructor and others who do that type of yoga to be sure it’s suitable for you.

Go slow and slow. You’re not in competition with anyone else in the class. Learn the basics, such as proper breathing and how to maintain balance, before you attempt the more ambitious stretches.
Warming up properly. Cold muscles increase your chance of injury.Wear full cloth properly. Wear clothes that allow you to move freely.

If you don’t understand an exercise, ask to see it again before you attempt it yourself,
Stay hydrated. That’s especially important if you are practicing what’s called “hot” yoga, which is done in a very warm and humid room.

Pay more attention to your own body. Yoga is not supposed to hurt. If you feel pain, stop yoga immediately. If the pain persists, see your health care provider or trainer. Stop immediately if you have chest pain, feel faint, body pain (leg pain, or any other pain) or overheated, or become dizzy. Get immediately medical (First aid) help if the sensation continues after you stop.

Getting more sleep is an easy way to keep your body trim and healthy.

6. Exercise
To achieve a truly flat stomach, work in some cardiovascular exercise between sit-ups, crunches, planks and other abdominal exercises. 
Walking counts, as long as it's brisk enough that you work up a sweat and breathe harder, with your heart rate faster than usual.  To get the same results in half the time, step up your pace and get vigorous exercise -- like jogging or walking. You'd need to do that for 20 minutes a day, 4 days a week. 
Try planking, where you hold yourself in a push-up position, resting your forearms on the ground. Try 3 or 4 sets of holding for 30 seconds each. Also, try jumping rope, running on a treadmill or even do jumping jacks for 30 seconds to one minute between each set. You will shred fat while building a solid core.

7. Healthy fats
Yes, you heard right! Although you should still moderate your intake, healthy fats like avocados, walnuts and olive oil can improve satiety. These foods will also rev up your metabolism thanks to high doses of omega-3.

8. Stress
Everyone has stress. Whether we're stressed because of constant, crazy demands at work or we're really in danger, our bodies respond like we're about to be harmed and need to fight for our lives.
